But it was in 2019 that Hollie rode into the history books, setting a new record for winners ridden in a calendar year in Britain by a female jockey with 116 victories, passing the previous record of 106 winners set by Josephine Gordon in 2017. Hollie’s first win at Royal Ascot came in June 2020 when she rode Scarlet Dragon to victory in the Duke of Edinburgh Stakes, and then later in October the same year she became the first female jockey to ride a winner on Champions Day at Ascot, completing a double, including her first Group 1 winner aboard Glen Shiel for trainer Archie Watson, then going on to win on Trueshan in the Long Distance Cup.
In December 2020 Hollie was named The Sunday Times Sportswoman Of The Year and later that month took third place in the coveted BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award [SPOTY].
And in 2023, with wins on Bradsell, Rhythm N Hooves and Saint Lawrence, Hollie secured her place in the record books as the first ever female to win three races at Royal Ascot. And then just one week later completed the remarkable achievement of riding a winner at every flat UK racecourse after winning aboard Mostawaa at Carlisle.
Hollie, who has ridden worldwide including Japan, Hong Kong as well as in the UK, is married to fellow-jockey Tom Marquand. They met each other at the age of 14 and got married in March 2022 in Ivington, Herefordshire.
